Toni is an award-winning food and nutrition journalist using cultural heritage and cooking for social change. She is Editor in Chief of Cook’s Country by America’s Test Kitchen where she celebrates America’s favorite recipes and the people behind them. She believes that the stories told by home cooks are a powerful way to explore identity and to promote our shared humanity. Toni also honors the real-life stories of this country’s African American cooks through her rare book collection. Her hope is that by championing the professional skills and kitchen wisdom of generations of black cooks, these hidden figures will be recognized as culinary role models from whom everyone can learn.
