Chefs Ray Anthony Barrett and Rashida Holmes join James Beard Award-winning journalist Toni Tipton-Martin for an afternoon tasting of classic African American cakes from her new cookbook, Jubilee. The event is part of the “talk & eat” dinner series hosted by Tipton-Martin and her 501c3 nonprofit, The SANDE Project. These gatherings will celebrate black excellence in the food industry past and present. The goal is to promote promote African American food history as a means of reducing race prejudice, increasing economic independence, and encouraging good health.
